A reimplimentation of the mail subsystem has been completed. After testing with various mail setups here (including gmail) it has been merged into the 8.0.1 branch.

Can you reproduce this issue on 8.0.2?

I've been using 8.02 for awhile now and receiving weekly reports without this happening. I'm not sure what caused it originally. This ticket can be closed.
