Description

FreeBSD 8.3 and 9.1 added the rr27xx_3x (the _3x may have been dropped) driver. This driver is necessary for the HighPoint? RocketRaid? 27xx series of SAS controllers. Please bring this driver into your FreeNAS 8.2.0 releases.

I have tried the latest FreeNAS-8.3.1-ALPHA-r12073 but was unable to get my RocketRaid? 2720 card recognized natively. I did some troubleshooting as per noobsauce80 suggestions and it appears that the hpt27xx.ko driver is not included in FreeNas? 8.3 builds even though it is in FreeBSD 8.3 release. Also this card may need the ahci.ko driver as well.

Indeed, the driver is not enabled in the kernel
